Overview

TuneDude is a chromatic strobe tuner app designed to provide fast, focused tuning without third-party ads. This policy explains what TuneDude collects, what stays on your device, and how limited data is used to keep the app working.

Data TuneDude processes

Microphone audio, real-time only: TuneDude uses microphone input to detect pitch. Audio is processed on your device for real-time tuning and is not uploaded to our servers. TuneDude does not save audio recordings.

Local app settings and presets: TuneDude stores settings on your device, such as A4 reference, selected temperament, tone settings, saved presets, and whether Pro unlock is enabled. These settings are used to personalize the app experience and remain on your device unless you delete app data or uninstall the app.

Firebase Analytics

TuneDude uses Firebase Analytics to understand basic app usage and improve the app. Analytics events may include actions such as onboarding started or completed, paywall viewed, purchase attempted, purchase success, preset saved, tone generator started, and haptic feedback triggered.

Some analytics events may include limited non-personal parameters, such as a feature name, tone waveform, MIDI note number, or haptic type. TuneDude does not send preset names, microphone audio, audio recordings, or personal profile information in these analytics events.

Firebase Analytics is operated by Google. Google may process analytics data under its own privacy and Firebase terms: Firebase Privacy and Security.

Firebase Crashlytics

TuneDude uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and error diagnostics. Crash reports may include technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, crash time, and stack trace information.

Crashlytics data is used to identify, troubleshoot, and fix bugs. TuneDude does not include microphone audio, audio recordings, preset names, or personal profile information in crash reports.

In-app purchases and purchase verification

TuneDude may offer a one-time Pro unlock through Google Play Billing. Payments and transaction processing are handled by Google Play. TuneDude does not receive or store your full payment card details.

To unlock paid features and prevent purchase abuse, TuneDude may send limited purchase verification data to a secure verification service. This may include package name, product ID, purchase token, purchase ID, and verification source. This data is used to verify purchase status and manage access to paid features.

Google may process purchase-related data under its own privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy.

Permissions

TuneDude requests microphone permission to provide tuning functionality. If microphone permission is denied, microphone-based tuning will not work.

Advertising and tracking

TuneDude does not display third-party advertisements and does not use third-party ad networks. TuneDude does not use microphone audio for advertising, marketing profiles, or ad targeting.

TuneDude uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for app improvement, diagnostics, reliability, and maintenance.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell personal data. We do not share microphone audio recordings with third parties.

Limited data may be processed by service providers that help operate TuneDude, including Google Play Billing, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and purchase verification infrastructure.

Data retention and deletion

App settings and presets are stored locally on your device and remain until you delete app data or uninstall TuneDude. We do not maintain a TuneDude user account database.

Analytics, crash diagnostics, and purchase verification records may be retained only as needed to operate the app, maintain records, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, or comply with legal obligations.

Children and age suitability

TuneDude is suitable for users of all ages. TuneDude does not require account creation and does not knowingly collect personal profile information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through TuneDude, please contact us so we can review and address the issue.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the app and its data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect app, service, or legal changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
